About the Doctors
Robert Peracchia, DDS
Dr. Robert Peracchia is a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry and has provided pediatric dental care to children since 1998. He earned his dental degree at the University Of Western Ontario in London, Ontario Canada. Post-graduate residencies at the University of Washington in Seattle and Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York allowed him to develop greater expertise in pediatric dental treatment. Dr Peracchia is an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University's School of Dental Medicine. Dr. Peracchia holds a hospital appointment at Columbia Presbyterian Hospital where he provides treatment for his patients requiring general anesthesia in a hospital operating room. Annually attending continuing education courses enables Dr. Peracchia to stay at the forefront of his specialty so that he can provide optimal care to his patients. This allows Dr. Peracchia to offer his patients the best pediatric dental care. He regularly attends courses focusing on dental technology, materials, technique and orthodontics so that the most current treatment options are available to his patients.
Dr, Peracchia is also dedicated to serving the local community. Dr, Peracchia Is the Pediatric Dentist on the Health Advisory Board of Big Apple parent magazine. Pediatric Dentistry and West Side Orthodontics provides in classroom discussion on dental health to over 20 schools on the Upper West Side during Children's National Dental Health Month. Dr. Peracchia and his family are supporters of various charities, schools and local sports organizations.
Dr. Peracchia resides on the Upper West Side with his wife Dr. Mary Eve Maestre and their children, Joseph, Mark and David.
Mary Eve Maestre, DDS
A Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics and a published author, Dr. Mary Eve Maestre obtained her dental doctorate from the University of Toronto. She completed a residency in hospital dentistry at the University of Washington and postgraduate training in orthodontics at Montefiore Medical Center and Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Along with her practice, Dr. Maestre is a clinical associate professor and lecturer at New York University in the Post-Graduate Department of Orthodontics.
Having spent a total of 15 years in dentistry, and a practicing orthodontist for 10 of those years, she is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Northeast Society of Orthodontists and the New York County Dental society.
Aura Caldera, DDS
Dr. Aura Caldera earned her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry. She later joined New York Presbyterian Hospital-Columbia University Medical Center (NYP-CUMC) as a post-doctoral resident to pursue a specialty in Pediatric Dentistry, where she held the position of Chief Resident. NYP-CUMC is ranked the #1 hospital in the metro area and is listed in the most recent Best Children?s Hospital Honor Roll. Dr. Caldera spent two years taking call with the Pediatric Emergency Department and gained profound experience in treating medically compromised children with extensive dental needs. Since completing her residency, Dr. Caldera holds an academic appointment at New York University College of Dentistry where she serves as program coordinator and clinical faculty with international dental outreach development. She also maintains her affiliation with Columbia University as a clinical attending teaching the post-graduate Pediatric Dentistry residents.
Dr. Caldera understands that childhood is the best time instill good oral hygiene practices and to shape positive attitudes towards dental treatment. She focuses on keeping up with the most current dental technology, materials and techniques allowing her to provide optimal care to her patients. Dr. Caldera's professional affiliations include the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and American Dental Association.
Dr. Caldera resides in Edgewater, NJ with her husband Michael and new baby girl Ariana Sofia.
